It's interesting, the period of state-owned Turkish Carpet production (from the 13th century) in which carpets were exported to Europe in the 14th-15thcenturies, have been seen in many paintings by European artists.

Another Turkish carpet type, which can be calledearly Ottoman belonging to the 14th-15th centuries. Stars and similar motives took the place of animal motives and were inserted in the background, which was again divided into squares.

The second brilliant period of Turkish rugs was the carpets, which have been knotted in Usak.

It's important to know that the rugs were a lifestyle and necessary for Turkish tribes as they still was living in Asia. The hard winter times in the Asian steppe was never easy for Turkish tribes.
